Project description

To develop optimal nanostructured membranes and installations for CO2 capture from power plants 7 fields of knowledge are being exploited and combined in NanoGLOWA:

  1. Basic materials
  2. Membrane development
  3. Membrane production
  4. Module development
  5. Process development
  6. Diagnostics development
  7. Power generation

The main relationships of these knowledge fields are outlined beside.

It forms the basis for the structure of the work packages, the role of the partners and the project management.

Five (I - V) development tracks are deployed in parallel: three for polymer membranes, one for carbon and one for ceramic membranes. Hence a route for the development of performance diagnostics is planned. They all start at academic laboratories and end in the final fifth year of the project with a pilot test in a power plant.

The whole project started in December 2006 and will end after five years in December 2011.
